The total Renewable power installed in India is now close to 25,445 MW with Wind Energy leading till date. However in past couple of years Solar Power has contributed significantly into the growth of Total Renewable Energy installations in India till 2012.
Of the total in Renewable, India has witnessed an unprecedented growth in Solar Installations over past 1 year from showcasing approximately 56 MW in 2011 to around 1060 MW of Solar Power in 2012 (till August 2012).
Let’s have a look into approx. state wise Solar power plants installed in India :
Many states have contributed significantly in Solar Arena but needless to say the the Solar State of India “Gujarat” still leads the Solar Sector & is way-way ahead due to its much favorable Gujarat State Solar Policy of Phase I & II among all the states by housing almost 710 MW !!!! of Solar Power Plants out of about 1060 MW of Solar power installed till August 2012 in India. In the previous post regarding list of Solar Plants in Gujarat the total capacity was 654 MW which now in August 2012 is close to 710 MW ! as mentioned below :
Till now the major key drivers in India were State sponsored Gujarat Solar Policy (Phase I & II) and JNNSM Policy…but now it seems that more and more states are backing solar power with Draft solar policies of M.P. and U.P. coming out along with the much anticipated announcement of Gujarat Solar Policy for Phase III and more projects coming under REC Mechanism in coming days due to which India would further witness sky shot growth in coming years in terms of solar power installations on its soil !!!!
