Gujarat Solar Projects – Comparison of Energy Generation Data for March 2012 Vs May 2012 :: Facing the 1st scorching Summer of Gujarat, India !!!!

Its now the arrival of Monsoon season in most part of Gujarat and India. People are definitely going to enjoy the Monsoon after getting tired in scorching summer with temperature rising around 42 Degrees in many regions of Gujarat….and finally ending up complaining paying high electricity bills for their their AC’s they used this summer 😉

Gujarat Solar Power Policy 2015

Anyways, lets see how the season(summer) was for Solar Power Plant here in Gujarat

This was the first summer for the solar projects installed here in Gujarat with all the varieties of technology used and installation practices adopted. Earlier in one of my previous blog Gujarat Solar Projects Generation Data for March 2012 ! I penned down the generation data for various plant of Gujarat. Let us now see how did the month of MAY 2012 proved out for these plants !

Below mentioned is the comparison sheet** between the Generation data** of MARCH 2012 & MAY 2012 months of the the 1st Summer season that these Solar Plants have witnessed over their lifetime of 25 years “at least claimed 😉 ” …..While there has been overall increase of 30% in the Total Generation data in May as compared to March, with most of the plants generating more energy in the later month still some of the plants have shown reduction in generation of power as compared with march month data….lets have a look :

*= Note : Data gathered officially from various sources / publications and the author does not take any responsibility of the correctness of this data in whatsoever manner. There are some more plants too for which the readings were not available due to some reasons.

For now this was the 1st summer for all the above “Scooby-Doo’s” that were made functional in the state of Gujarat, India and many of them have shown levelized performances as expected with enough “Scooby Snacks” available for them this summer season….

Now its time for them to withstand the challenges of coming monsoon….especially the challenges related to land work, Civil work and of course generation !!!!

Till then.. “Happy Monsoon” to every one 🙂

    Thanks for sharing this data.
Is it possible to highlight which technology each of these Plants have used ?

    • Urvish Dave says:

      Dear Mr. Gupta,
Thank you for visiting the blog & your comments. Presently working on that only, and will post the details when compiled.
      Regards -Urvish Dave

  2. Amit Singla says:

It will be better if you can include size & commissioning date of each project.

    • Urvish Dave says:

Dear Mr. Amit, Thank you for visiting the blog and your comments. Also the sizes of all the plants are mentioned in my previous blog titled “Complete List of all the Solar Projects Installed in Gujarat till May 9, 2012 equals 654.81 MW Capacity” and regarding the Date of Commissioning, wasn’t able to compile the correct info due to significant variance of the data available from various sources. Regards – Urvish Dave

    Hi Urvish,
I can help you with the data on Solar Module Technology , Invertor, EPC Details etc.Lets meet up and we could share notes.Jignesh

  4. Ankit Sharma says:

    Thanks dear
we also finshed our proeject that is mentioned in your list i.e ARAVALI INFRA POWER LTD.

    Thanks for info.

  5. Harsh Goenka says:

    Hi Urvish,
This is interesting data. As we can see, performance of the plants varies a lot. Some plants have better perfromance compared to March, whereas performance of some plants seem to have detoriated. If you know any of these developers, and they might be interested in an independent performance assessment of their PV plants, do let me know. We prepare such reports:

These type of passing information is very much benefical for all who are thinking on solar energy
projects in india.I desire to be informed whenever any development is there.Dr sksen,HOD,Mech Engg Dept,CIT Tatisilwai, Ranchi.

  7. Sandeep says:

Dear Sir, I have gone through your blog and the information shared by you, which is realistic to show the result of power generating with solar.
We are newly entering into solar energy to create awareness to market. We may need your help as we are starters in this field.
